Playfair Lodge underwent a major upgrade in fire safety by installing a fire sprinkler system upgrading the existing fire alarm system. It was found that the main water line piping is in dire condition and would not be suitable for new fire sprinkler piping connection. The new water line is then installed. The new hydrant system will also need to be installed to meet the fire regulations of distance to the nearest entrance. Coordination to multiple stakeholders is very important between local municipal government, resident municipal engineers, provincial government, housing management body, sub consultant and general contractor. The entire fire safety project from the sprinkler system, fire alarm system, and new hydrant was completed in 2021.
