Description: Connie Young Design was a code and life-safety consulting assignment for ALL for an interior-design/business-services project in Calgary. The work focused on turning available project information into a clear, coordinated engineering deliverable that could support review, permitting, construction, or closeout needs.
Problem/Objective: The project required practical engineering support for a group d, business and personal services occupancy while keeping the scope aligned with the available drawings, site information, and code or authority requirements.
Method/Process: MNA reviewed the project documents, identified the applicable service scope, coordinated the relevant discipline inputs, and prepared the deliverable around the confirmed building use, location, and project constraints.
Result/Impact: Confirmed the fire alarm and life-safety scope was reviewed, tested, or documented so the client had a clearer basis for verification, inspection, or closeout.
Reflection: MNA learned from Connie Young Design that business-services tenant work benefits from making assumptions, site constraints, and compliance evidence explicit; the project reinforced the value of turning limited source information into clear decisions, coordinated documentation, and practical next steps for the client.
